Hello. I came to Canada to work as a LIC on July 15, 2015. I have submitted my permanent residency application on July 17, 2017. I did not submit an Open work permit application with my PR application though because i had no idea about OWP at the time and a family member basically helped me with my PR app and she didnt mention anything about applying for OWP as well. My work permit is going to expire on December 18 of this year and i still have no updates regarding my PR application . Im starting to panic and i dont know what to do. Please help.

Submit the open work permit application now. If you already have the Pr application number. Submit a cover letter that you are submitting a open work permit application in accordance with the live in Caregiver program. State the application number and date submitted and all should be well. They will have your Pr info in their system so you should be fine
Thanks for the reply! Do i still need tol apply for an extension of my current work permit though or will the open work permit application be enough? Also, i tried applying online and it just confuses me. The cic website keeps taking me to the come to canada eligibility test whenever i click "apply online"..
