Hey guys,

German guy here, currently on my second year of a three year PGWP, due to expire in August 2017 and planning to apply for permanent residency under CEC.

Completed a four year Bachelor degree at a Canadian university and will have two years of full-time work experience in August.

I'm fairly positive that there shouldn't be an issue with me scoring reasonably well on one of the English tests, but even with the highest
scores, I'm only reaching a CRS of 469, reduced to 465 in September due to turning 30.

Just looking for some input as to how you would proceed. I'm currently gathering documents that will still be valid by the time my visa expires, (police certificates, etc), but was thinking about maybe applying for IEC sometime next year, for which I'm theoretically eligible. This could potentially enable me to boost my CRS and/or time for CIC to reduce cut-off scores, change regulations, etc.

This is obviously a bit of a gamble, hence me hoping someone could give me some feedback on how they would proceed.

Thank you so much. I know this is rough on all of us, but lets see if we can stick this out. All the best.

Hey!
Done exactly that with the same score and it worked.
I did not bother with Ontario invitation since I hoped I would just eventually get normal ITA. Was invited under FSW when the draw points dropped to 469 last July. Took 5 months after AOR to get PPR. Good luck, hope your score will bring you ITA soon!

I think you stand a good chance of getting a direct ITA in the next couple of draws if scores go down (which I'm sure will). So hang in there

Thanks for the reassurance guys.

I've been living in Canada for the better part of six years, it's pretty much what I consider my home at this point.

I'll study up for the English exams, don't want to leave anything by chance and will submit my profile some time in May.

Maybe I'll even get an ITA before turning 30 years old, save those 5 points, haha.

Lets hope for the best, my work permit expires in July so I need an ITA soon as well
