Permanent Residence Card Expired

Hello,

My wife (PR) and I (canadian) are applying for the family sponsorship.(my in-laws) We have all our forms and documents ready and we are ready to send for January 2nd...then we just noticed my wife's Resident card is expired since December 2014 !!

Will our application will be refused because of the expired PR card ?
Will it be ok, if we just attach to the application a copy of the confirmation of permanent residency of my wife?

No you won't be refused because of that. An expired PR card doesn't mean she is no longer a PR it just means she would have difficulty entering Canada if she were to leave.
