I filed an application to sponsor my wife from India in earlier in 2013. Four months ago, she was asked to redo her medicals because the VO wanted to verify something. The medical results were fine and the medical office submitted them just in time, right after Christmas. But my wife's sponsorship application has been "In Process" since mid December 2013, without any update since. Does anyone know how long it typically takes before a decision is made? What does "In Process" typically mean? Isn't everyone's application "In Process" after it is submitted?

Thank you!

All cases are different so no one can actually say how long an application will take to complete.
IN PROCESS means that the application is being worked on. When application are received by the VO they are usually listed on eCAS as APPLICATION RECEIVED. The next step would be IN PROCESS.

Thanks for that info. Now it's almost March, and the status still shows "In Process". There is no word about whether the medicals were received or not. Is it okay to apply for GCMS notes? I see a lot of people talking about how one should do it and I have also read that it adds to a delay in the process. Any suggestions on what I could do? Our application was filed to New Delhi in May 2013 and they started to work on the file during that month.

Hey Guys, my wife's status on eCAS is still "In Process" since mid-December. There is no update since then. I even e-mailed CIC/High Commission asking for an update and have not heard back. How long does it usually take? I have seen some people get approved with "Decision Made" after a week of being "In Process". Only thing is my wife was asked to do remedicals as they found something in the lungs but that test cleared according to the medical lab reps. But my wife's case has been in the "In Process" stage since mid-December. Any feedback would help.
