Perfect Case

Hi everyone,

I have been a reading visiting of this forum for quite a while, and have enjoyed a good quality, informative posts. I have a question theoretical question to ask, and would really appreciate your musings on this :

Do you think there is a perfect case possible exists where an application is processed quicker and trouble-free? Here’s a scenario: Say someone has worked for a major oil and gas company for the last 3 years earning circa 150 K a year, has his own house and the constant record of aboard, received the 5H in for both disciplines in the English language test, has a child born in Canada, provides a letter from the job and an affidavit from his supervisor stating he has known the applicant for the last 3 years and from the best side, has a record of travel but has copies of all boarding passes and stamps in the passports tally up. Do you think it’s realistic to assume that such an application will be processed quicker and with a lower likelihood of QR issuance?

What makes me think so is that I personally know a few people from my surrounding that match the description above who has been processed for less than a year completely trouble free. Also, my experience, when I reapplied for 3 PR cards, was that those were mailed to me within……1.5 week!

Appreciate your thoughts.

This sounds like fantasy under today's CIC management.

This is definitely not representative of the majority (or even the minority) of applications processed at CIC (whether for PR renewal or for citizenship)

I think you right about the majority of cases, and that is exactly why I was wondering if there “negative” triggers exist there should be some positive as well I think. I reapplied for cards in March 2013 (the period when the bottleneck reached its pick allegedly) and was shocked to receive them so soon. I don’t think it’s due to pure luck those.

Strike has no effect on the citizenship applications.

With respect to the original post. If everything is in perfect order, it might lower your chances for RQ, but it won't necessarily mean a faster processing time. My guess is every application is assigned to a different officer, and your application will more depend on the workload that your officer has on his table rather than your application itself. That is the reason why some applications are processed faster than the others. It depends on the workload of the respective officer.

There are definitely risk factors for getting an RQ, but the lack thereof does not guarantee that you won't be issued an RQ. Try to apply with as much supportive documentation as possible, but don't count on getting your citizenship until the end of the decade. Just in case...
