A little different from what's usually discussed on this sub. Anyone who came here as an international student(with the intention of eventually getting PR) but failed to do so? What happened? I just want to know if there are common mistakes that people make that are avoidable.

Individuals not researching to ensure that the school and or programs they are attending are PGWP eligible.
Or they drop down to part time during a semester when they are not eligible to do so .
Its the students responsibility that they are compliant at all times when they are on a student visa . So there’s no “ I didn’t know “, when they are refused a PGWP.
If someone is spending lots of money to go to a school, then it’s only in their best interest they research the school etc, and not just rely on an consultant advice .

Probably the most common mistake is coming for just a one year program and only getting a one year PGWP.

Attending a private school (vs. public) would be another big one.

Not having a degree (either from the their home country or Canada) would be a reason as well. Not having a degree significantly lowers the chances of qualifying for PR.

Another reason is not doing the proper research on what it takes to qualify for PR and leaving things until the last minute / assuming it's going to be easy.

I know this completely different from what is been discussed here. I just need answers please. So I applied for TR to PR on May 6 but I filed for a refund and I got it. Now I just got my AOR and I have linked my application to my GCKey account. I wish to continue with the application since it has started processing but I don’t know what to do next. Has anyone ever been in this situation? Please how do I move forward especially with the payment. You response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
