Hi,
I have started disposing off my stuff and working on what to take with me .

Read in this forum that bringing furniture and heavy item not recommended as you can buy them here,

Agree , that I won't ship furniture and thinking to leaving in my house as I can get little bit higher rent when rent it as furnish .

Can any one also please share there experience about leaving house with letting agent on yearly contract is better or to sell it off at current lower prices , as if it get rented it will just pay off all my mortgage , and I thinking to sell it after couple of year when property price rise littlebit.
As if I sell today (furnish with my all furniture) then Max I will be getting back after all fees and clearing mortgage Is £ 20000- 22000 whereas I paid down payment of 26,000 plus 9,000 on furniture plus kitchen stuff in 2008.

PS3 , 3D Home cinema, LG 3D Tv I found that they are much expensive then in Uk

For eg 42 inch 3D Led Tv which I bought last year for £ 650 and still similar ones available here for around £ 550. But in Canada ~Alberta I can't see similar things in less then $1200

Can anyone please share there experience with electronics (UK vs Ca)

And please give me canadian websites to compare prices from (uk shops like pcworld.co.uk, currys.co.uk, Argos.co.uk)
I am trying to find out/compare prices and notice that Canada prices are much expensive then Uk,
May be I am looking at wrong places .

Also My PS3 320 GB slim just got 220V. So I need step down transformer for using it in Ca.
Can you please give me link to specific transformer so I can see size and price .

Please advice. (prefer experience from people who went through similar condition in past)

Hi Aquib,

Also in same situation and decided to rent my place out instead. Unlike yourself, I have owned my home for over ten years but as you mentioned, having done a lot of work on it, hoping to maximise the money from sales as possible hence renting out. I have left literally all the furnitures but taking my TV as I also checked but could not find one for same price as I got here. The good thing about these new flat screen TV's is that the cords are detachable which means you can take them anywhere and just get a plug from Canada for the make of your TV. Shipping my TV, and a couple of other things is not costing that much and considering what it would cost to pay for new ones, it is worth it.

I will take it as luggage , as got 6 * 23 kg (for 3 ticket 2 each ) luggage allowance so TV will be 1.
Trying to find some airline offer extra luggage for 30£ approx. if thats case then i will get 1 extra for each ticket .

TV etc are really expensive in Ca as compare to UK ,

I recommend taking them .

With shipping, although my TV was put back into its original packaging, it was also encased by the shippers to protect from damage. Carrying it as a luggage is not prudent as those baggage handlers throw things anyhow without due care.

This costs around £3 per kg .

If you pack with original packing marerial and label it then hope there will be no prob.
