Pending asylum in usa and want to study in canada

I got fully funded scholarship to study in canadian university. However, currently I am in US with pending asylum status. Can I get student visa to pursue my study? Note that I have a valid passport.

There's pretty much zero chance a Canadian study permit will be approved due to your status in the US. To be approved, you must demonstrate strong ties to your home country to prove you have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. The pending asylum application demonstrates very weak ties to your home country and shows you have a strong interest in settling outside of your home country.
