Hi ahlski!!

I think if ever you need the passport and visa for PDOS hindi ka nman i-aadvise ng agency mo to have your PDOS db? Kasi agency are expert about it.. Kaya probably they won't advise you to do such things na hindi ka allowed gawin yun. Bakit nga po pala hindi mo vinerify sa agent mo about it? I understand how you feel na nakaka-stress mag isip which I think they are the ony person who can answer your queries.

Pero I think positive na yan. Let's keep our faith.

May god bless you.

Ako nman, mas naiinip na ko sa pagdating ng visa... Kasi I know its very soon from now. Claim ko na 'to!!! :)

Note: The OWWA contribution (I think, is the OWWA membership fee).

http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/248571/pinoyabroad/ofw-guide-the-required-39-pre-departure-orientation-seminar-39

“If you have a work visa on your passport and you are registered with POEA then you have to take PDOS,” he said adding that Filipinos migrating to other countries are also required to undergo the two-hour seminar.

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/pre_departure-pre_depart.aspx?view=d#a1

OWWA Seminar (PDOS)

Participants: compulsory for all Filipinos leaving the country as temporary workers

Length: half-day

Where: Recruitment agency for those assisted by an agency. Those with a direct hire contract must attend PDOS at the following address: POEA Bldg., EDSA corner Ortigas Ave., Mandaluyong City

Cost: free-of-charge

Program: The seminar discusses topics on health and migration, the features of a standard employment contract, airport procedures, what to do upon arrival at the country of employment, offenses that could affect overseas employment, what to do in case of a contract violation by the employer, and travel tips. Since OWWA performs the welfare function of the POEA, the seminar also focuses on the benefits one can get from being an OWWA member and the various credit and social programs offered by OWWA.

For more information and registration:

OWWA may be contacted at the 2nd Floor, POEA Bldg., EDSA corner Ortigas Ave., Mandaluyong City. Their 24/7 OWWA Operations Center Hotlines are (632)8336992, 5516641, 5511560, or 09178986992. Their email address is: owwancr_poea@yahoo.com.ph. Website is: Overseas Workers Welfare Administration

After attending the PDOS seminar, a Certificate of Attendance is issued. The certificate and the medical exam result (if required) are then presented to secure an Order of Payment form to pay the necessary fees for registration. The processing fee is US$100.00; the OWWA contribution is US$25.00; and the Phil Health premium is PHP900.00. As proof of payment of the above fees, an e-RECEIPT is issued which will also serve as the TRAVEL EXIT PASS.

well said job_seeker, you're so generous to share at the maximum and to the fullest effort to explain and to know all about PDOS...kudos!

the government is really making effort to represent supposedly public service and yet every ofw who sacrifice going out of the country to make a living before they can leave they will shed blood, sweat and tears to pay what the government is charging that really makes a killing to the so called modern heros of filipinos!

I won't take credit for the post because I copy pasted it from the site/s. It's just easier to get the information from the horse's mouth so to speak. The sites are cited except I didn't enclose the copied texts in quotes. I feel precisely the sentiments you feel; the government is bleeding out overseas Filipino Workers :( by the sheer demands on paper work (red tapes), that are not free!

kailanagan dun ng referal ng agency saka photocopy ng passport both visa page and biodata page at copy ng contract na verified ng POLO. sa bayad wala sagot ng employer.

Hello. My mom had already sent the requirements for travel doc to the CIC Manila so she can go here in the Philippines.
Second, our passport was already in CIC last May 8, 2013. My mom became PR last July 29,2013.
I just want to ask if the processing times for Travel Document Application and ISSUANCE OF VISA are also affected by the strike? Thanks!
