Hi,

I will be travelling to Toronto from Bahrain in August.
Bahrain - Dubai - Toronto (Emirates)

Abu Dhabi airport has a testing facility for transit passengers. is the same facility available in Dubai airport?
IF NOT, what options do I have, as now its mandatory to get tested in the transit country?

Also, if anyone is planning to take the same flight path, pls connect with me.

  • The Minister of Transport will amend the Interim Order Respecting Certain Requirements for Civil Aviation Due to COVID-19, which means for passengers who depart India or Pakistan to Canada after 23:30 EDT April 22, 2021, via an indirect route, they will need to obtain a negative COVID-19 pre-departure test from a third country before continuing their journey to Canada. This does not apply to you as per the above statement coz you are traveling from Bahrain.

Yes that is my understanding. You may want to read the statement from Minister of Transport, Canada.
i will also ask ircc office in my country. they are doing webinar at the end of every end month about traveling to Canada/ documents and questions from people. i was worried because there are no direct flights from my home country

You can just call up any airlines from your country that departs to Toronto and check with them, this is an easy way to get information.

thank you for your reply

however, this is what is written in the following link for people with connecting flights :
https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/flying-canada-checklist/covid-19-testing-travellers-coming-into-canada
  • if you have a connecting flight:
    • the test must be conducted within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your last direct flight to Canada
    • you may need to schedule the test in your transit city
so, I am not sure, but it looks like its mandatory for all passengers

If this is true for all passengers (Traveling outside from India and Pakistan) then your best bet would be to fly via Abu Dhabi and you could still take PCR test during Transit.
