Hai ya,
How long is my police clearance certificate valid?
If I have already submitted police certificates from other countries where I have not recently lived then I will not have to provide an update.
Living in Canada past 2yrs continuous and have latest PCC from Canada, rest other countries have more than a year old.

Your advise really appreciated.
_Alex

PCCs cannot be more than three months old when they are received by CIC. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you have lived in those countries.

Yes, exactly. Any country you've been in for 6 months or more from the time you were 18, you need a new police check for.

If you already sent the police certificate and it was not more that six 3 months old when CIC got it, you don't have to send it again. If they need you to send anything updated, they will tell you.

CIC requires the pcc to be received by them with in 3mths of issue.

PCC must not be more than 3 months old from the date application is received by CIC. Validity of a PCC is one year from the date of issue.

Sorry, I meant to say three and accidentally wrote 6. :o No, definitely not six.

Thank you all, now I understood that whether I recently visited or not, I must have updated PCC from all those countries where I lived more than 6 months.

It is contradicting some consulting firm statement.... as followed.

Your police clearance certificate is valid for a period of one year from the date it was issued. If the validity has expired before your visa is issued you will be requested to provide an updated police certificate from the country you are currently living in. If you have already submitted police certificates from other countries where you have not recently lived you will not have to provide an update.

CIC website clearly states "3 months".

I see what he is saying about the PCC's he has already submitted... According to CIC wording that he has quoted it appears that the previous places he has lived in he would not have to submit an updated PCC from those particular countries.

However one does not know what PCC's may or may not have been sent to the VO abroad or have been lost in the process of the transfer. It may be best to re-obtain and re-submit new ones.
