PCC validity duration

Hello,
This is regarding the PCC validity duration:

There are two points mentioned in terms of PCC in CIC:

1. The certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application. If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator.
Hence, 3 months validity for PCC.

2. As per checklist; It says, PCC is generally considered valid for one year from the date of issue.

Can anyone suggest, Is PCC valid for 3 months or 1 year.
Thanks, Rincee

What it means is that if your PCC was issued on May 7th, 2012, then your application should be submitted no later than Aug 7th, 2012. The PCC is then valid until May 7th, 2013(1 year).

Ok, I have a question here,

my friend had submitted his application with in the 3 months of PCC issue date. His application is now returned. He need to submit it again with the missing documents but that PCC 3 months period is already passed, can he use the same PCC or do he need to apply for new one?

thanks SenoritaBella.

Also, when he applied his IELTS score was as per CIC requirement but as per the latest changes his score is now not enough to be eligible. So does he need to take IELTS again or they will consider his application based on old requirements as it is the returned one?

scores will be evaluated as per regulation at the time of application. so, if he does not fulfill the new requirements, he would need to retake the test. just my interpretation of the following..

"You must meet the minimum language requirements for your job. You must also include the results of a language test (from an agency designated by CIC) that shows you meet them when you apply."

so basically even for returned application, when we re-submit it again they see this as a "Fresh" application right?

I also read in their site that when applications are returned no File or record will be opened for those application, so it make sense that they will see the re-submitted application as "fresh".

Unfortunally, I would venture to think so, yes! They would more than likely treat it as a brand new application...therefore requiring compliance with the most current regulations. Sorry to bear the bad news.

Maybe SenoritaBella or other seniors can provide more detailed/accurate info...

You are right about the IELTS score. Better to retake the test and in that light also request a new PCC to be on the safe side. Since the PCC can be submitted later on, you can send the old PCC with the rest of the requested documents and include a letter saying you are in the process of obtaining a new one and will submit it when received.

Hi,

Pls suggest.

If I lived in city 'A' in India, can I bring PCC from the superintendent of police of city 'B' ? Both cities are in same state/province of India.

Will this be accepted by CIC ?

CIC requires PCC's for every country you've lived in for 6 consecutive months or more. So I would assume it doesn't matter which city provides your PCC as long as both cities are in the same country(India). Wait for other answers.

Go to local Passport Office and you can get an application form to apply for PCC at the Passport office itself. It will take few days or a week to get PCC after you submit your application

srionline117,

PCC is not required from every city or place you lived in India. You require only one PCC from India and from the place you are presently living or last lived in India (if you are presently living overseas).

If I lived in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi over the years and presently living in Bengaluru. All that I need to apply is for a PCC from Bengaluru.

Thanks, Seniors.

1. Idid not see a box to paste/glue color foto on pcc application form and certificate of dob application. Shall i glue it on somewhere on first page of applications? Or need to give foto im a small cover to them?

i will apply for above next week in consulate.

2. Do we have any photo studio near consulate in case if they say my photo size is not right or photo is not taken properly?

3. Will they post my certificate of dob first after 10 days and later pcc or they will wait n post both same time after 6 weeks?
