Hi,

Can someone please clarify if the PCC is valid for only 03 months from the issue date or 1 year from the issue date.
The info on the CIC page is confusing / contradicting.

The Instructions guide states that it is valid for only 03 months from the date of issue >
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp
The certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application.

But the document checklist (item 14) states it is valid for 01 year from the date of issue >
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.PDF
which means that if I get my PCC issued on 01 Jan and submit my PR application on the 15 of Jan and my entire processing of PR is completed within 31 Dec of the same year, the PCC will be valid throughout the year.

Only in case where the processing of my PR extends to the next year, CIC might call for a fresh PCC.

Please share your thoughts....

If your PCC is dated within 3 months of the date you submitted your entire application, you are fine.

Ex: If you send your Application in December 1st, 2012, your PCC can't be dated anything before September 1st, 2012. PCC that are dated after September 1st would be considered Valid.

LANDED..........
27-06-2013
My FBI certificate was issued on March 27, which I understand gave me until June 27 to get it to Sydney. My application was received on June 5, so it appears there was just enough time there. And yes, it looks like they have until March 27 of 2013 to finish processing for me and for me to land.

Just in case I will order another one in the next month or so. I need one for a Belgian work card anyway, so I will order two of them.

When you submit your application, the PCC should not be older than 3 months as on the date of submission.

During processing, the PCC is usually valid for upto an year. In case your processing is not completed within this time frame, CIC may request for a new PCC.
