PCC & Settlement funds

Hi,

I have recently received the file number on June 11 and have 120 days to submit all the documents. I have two issues.

1. Police clearance certificate: My hometown is in Jalandhar. Both me and my wife's passport has Jalandhar address, which is our permanent address, but we are working and staying in chandigarh for the last 5 years. My passport was renewed 3 months back and my wife's passport was issued in 2006. Now I would like to know that when I apply for the PCC, will there be police verification for both of us at Jalandhar. As my wife is 2 months pregnant, she has been medically advised against traveling. So if there is police verification, she will have to travel to Jalandhar which is not possible. OR should I give the details and proof of the present address of Chandigarh, so that verification should be done in Chandigarh. If I do so will there be police verification in in both Jalandhar and Chandigarh or only Chandigarh, and how much time will it take in my case to get PCC. Please advise, it is a confusing situation and time is running short.

2. For the settlement funds, is it necessary that the funds should be at least 6 months old. My father has arranged for the funds by pledging his fixed deposit documents, and slowly transferring the money to my account. Will there be any problem doing this. Pls advise.

The police issues PCC only on the address of passport. Other address they dont entertain the application. They dont meet the applicant, so your wife need not travel. The formalities are same as of issuing the passport, proof of residence, affidavit, witness of 2 neighbours. Go to SSP Jalandhar's office and deposit your application, affidavit,fee. If you want the PCC is also issued by RPO Chandigarh.

Fresh funds are all right.

I dont think that PCC will be issued on passport address. I am in US and I got y Pcc on US address where my passport has address of my home in ludhiana. I thnk it the address of the proff of id that show up or what you write in PCC form.

I have applied for PCC at RPO Chandigarh on 28th June. My passport was renewed in February but my wife's passport is 4 years old. So will CHC accept that PCC since the police enquiry was done 4 years ago. Or would I have to get the PCC from Local police also. I am getting very nervous as I have come to know that RPO chandigarh takes months to give back the passport. All my documents are ready except for PCC.

u should have applied at ssp office they take only 7 days to issue pcc.
no matter how old is passport as long as it is valid, no need to get pcc from local police. letter will be send by rpo chd to local
police, they may ask u to come in person to police station.

Thanks a lot...I want to know that while applying for PCC at RPO Chandigarh, they did not ask for personal particular (PP) forms. Does this mean that there will be no police verification ?
