PCC requested... but I'm not required to submit one... can someone clarify?

Hi Everyone,
I received my AOR and MR on April 4th, and CEC received my medicals on April 25th. Today i received an email from them requesting a PCC from the UAE.

The thing is, I was born August 12th 1985, and moved to Canada on a fulltime basis on January 14th 2004. I turned 18th on August 12th 2003, thus by the time I moved to Canada on a fulltime basis, I had only been living in the UAE for 5 consecutive months since turning 18.

I have emailed CPP Ottawa back bringing their attention to this detail, but I just wanted to make sure I am interpreting all this correctly right? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

As per website, you don't need it. But can't say much about it. I've also lived in UAE for almost 6 months(10 days less), but I've sent them PCC along with my application.

Yea I know.. That's puzzling... Im still waiting to hear back from them. I read the procedure online on the cic website on how to apply for a off from UAE. Did you apply from within Canada? And approximately how long did it take you to first get the package ready to send to the UAE, and then consequently how long for the PCC to arrive?

All the work was completed in a day. Then i sent the application to my dad(who was in dubai at that time), he submitted the application to local police station. They took, i guess, 3 business days to release the PCC.

Overall, it took me almost 10 days to get my PCC.

Hmm.. That's not bad at all, I can probably go through the same route, although its frustrating to have a delay when there shouldnt be one. Still waiting for an email response, hopefully they won't require it after clarifying t with them.

Hey,

I my application reached them Dec 21st 2011, and AOR and MR came together on April 4th. Did medicals on 11th and they reached Ottawa on the 25th of April. I confirmed by email a week ago that my medicals had been received, and ecas showed my MER this past Friday.

So I called CIC call centre and they said I did the right thing by questioning the request, and bringing to the attention of the officer, maybe he just miscalculated it.
But today I got response back saying that they still require it. Oh well.

Hey minta7, I got my fingerprints set today, and going to go now to notarize it, and then to DFEAT and the UAE embassy. Just a question, did you get the original fingerprint set authenticated? or a notarized copy?

Sorry.. I should rephrase my question. So i called Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and they told me I need to get my fingerprints taken, then notarize a copy, and bring the copy and they will put their seal on it, at which point i take it to the UAE embassy.

The question i had for you Minta, is do I get a notarized copy validated by the Ministry and the Embassy, or the ORIGINAL document that has the prints on it? I'm going to go the same route, send it to my parents to get it. Did you submit 3 photo's as well when you got your PC?
