PCC question after submitting PR application

Hello Everyone,

I am currently working in Canada, I have submitted my PR application under FSW category in Dec 2011 and my status is "In Progress".

I didn't submit PCC (Police Certificates) along with the application. Getting certificate from each country (I have to get from 3 countries) takes around 30-60 days.

I was planning to get all the PCC certificates and
1. Send directly to the Visa Office (is this the correct process)?
2. Wait for Visa Office to request for PCC and then submit them, but then again how long these certificates will be valid if I get them now?

Can anyone please suggest which is the best option (or any other option in my situation) and how long PCC will be valid? One of my friend suggested that, when CHC ask for the certificates, they give only 30 days time to get back. is that true?

Thanks a lot to everyone.

As your application is in process you can go ahead with obtaining the PCCs. There is nothing wrong if you submit the PCC to your visa office even without request from them. A PCC should be submitted to visa office within 3 months from the date of issue. Once it is submitted within the said period, you don't worry about its expiry. However, if the application process is considerably delayed due to any reason, visa office could request you to submit new PCC, but not always.

Hello Mikey76,
I am in similar situation as you were. Could you please guide me ? Did you get a request from VO for PCC's or did you send the PCC's proactively stating your file no. to VO ?
