First of all, thank you for opening my post thread and taking time to read it...

I have been issued an ITA on April 25th, and I am on the gathering documentation stage (Post-ITA).

About the PCC, I have been requested to upload PCC from Mexico, Japan and USA.

For the mexican and japanese PCC I need to obtain an official letter from IRCC in order to start the procedure. I'm a bit confused about how this should be done, because after doing some research I have read that many people have submitted their application without the PCC (some have uploaded a doc file stating that they need the official letter from IRCC to obtain their PCC's) and after this IRCC has sent the requesting letter directly to the PGR or Japan embassy.

I'm really lost and would love some guidance.
Thank you so much in advance for you advice!

Gracias!!

You need to upload a letter stating "I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.” During the processing of your application you will receive a request from IRCC to upload your PCC. You can then e-mail your Visa Office in Mexico City to get a formal request which you will use to book an appointment to whichever PGR is closest to you.

Thank you for your reply.

I already did that. I uploaded a letter just like but this is what it reads "Uploaded - not submitted to IRCC " (Image attached).. What should I do? How do I submit it? Thanks.

It hasn't been submitted as you are yet to submit your e-APR. That is, all the documents you upload will say that until you submit your application.

Again, you'll receive the request to upload your PCC after submitting your e-APR. The letter itself you will obtain by e-mailing your visa office.

Hello, anyone has a similar experience as I have now?
My partner is from Mexico and we applied for CEC-EE as a common-law in the mid of this May.
Since the Mexican PCC is not required upfront, we are now waiting for the request from CIC since our AOR.
We passed the medical in the late May, and it has been almost 50 days since our AOR but has not received the PCC request yet. ,

The thing is that my partner has been mostly in Canada for studying since he was 18 years old and only went back to Mexico for longest 3 months for vacation during year. Although Mexico is his home country, it is possible that CIC would not request his PCC from Mexico because of his short stay in Mexico?

If he did not spend 6 months in a row in Mexico then no PCC would be required.

I send it through the embassy of Canada in Mexico City
Hola Adrían,

What do you mean exactly from your question? Are you asking how long it took for them to send you the letter to get the PCC from the PGR, or how long for the PGR to issue the PCC after you go there with the letter?

For the 1st one, for reference, I submitted my infor without the Mexican PCC (I am Mexican), on September 14th, and I got the letter from them to send to take to the PGR for the PCC about one month later.

For the 2nd one, Once I got the letter from IRCC requesting the PCC; I made a payment to the PGR (instructions on how to get the PCC here, in Spanish (https://www.gob.mx/pgr/acciones-y-programas/constancia-de-datos-registrales), and took the payment reciept, along with the letter to my local PGR office, they took fingerprints, and issued tha PCC 15 business days later.

Hope this helps

So that means I will get the official letter needed after I have submitted all the files?
Hola,

Can you tell me how long it took for you since AOR until you got the PPR? I'm still waiting and I would like to know what the average time for Mexican residents is. Thanks

Hi Krystine, I am in a similar situation as your partner and saw that you were successful in receiving PR. Would you mind sharing??
I came to Canada to on a student permit at 19. From the age of 18-19 I traveled back and forth from the USA to Mexico. I am a Mexican Citizen,
the longest I stayed in Mexico from age 18-19 was 4 months in a row. On my application they did not ask for a Mexican Police certificate.. Was that the same scenario with your partner? Did they ever ask for a police certificate?
