Can I submit a PCC obtained from local police station (area police station) from India or I cannot? or it has to be from Commissioner of police or SSP only ?

Its from Andhra Pradesh...

Anyone here has submitted PCC from local police station?

Any experiences pls share....

You can get pcc from passport seva kendra.

If you are from canada then better to obtain a PCC from Indian embassy in Canada.

esbex: when you applied from here.. do you know if a local verification was done back home? I mean if a police officer/constable was sent to your address in your passport for verification? or not?

I have been trying to calling them since morning and no one is answering the call - do they need my photographs ?

Yes, photographs are needed. More details here in their website: http://www.blsindia-canada.com/pol_clr_cert.php
Just to let you know, there are few people (including me) had to wait for months to receive PCC. More details here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t153151.0.html

No, nobody goes to your address for physical verification.

PB02: how can you say this for sure? Also, if not local verification then what r they checking in PCC?

Dude - A local verification is not just done by a constable visiting your address in India (where you no longer live at the time of applying the PCC). There are other ways of checking your records. A local police officer only visits when you apply for a passport in India.

And further to your question - I am so sure on this as I got PCCs for myself and my spouse and have lot of friends who got the PCCs and nobody visited our homes in India.
