Hi guys. I am an Indian citizen living and working in USA since 2005. On my last trip to India I got a PCC from there. I took my flight back from India on 3/28 and the issued date on PCC is also 3/28, though it delivered to my parents there about a week after that. Also, I entered US on 3/28. Do you think that this PCC is valid or I will need to get a new one?

They issued me the following PCC. It does not mention any dates for how long I lived at the address. Do you think this PCC format is correct for submission?

According to the CIC website "For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after last time the applicant lived in that country."

So, your PCC issue date must after 3/28. I have seen a rejection for a similar case in the forum earlier.

Do you think that the pcc format is good on what they issued me? I uploaded a copy here. http://docdro.id/L7dM2IR

I am not sure about this format, if you have followed the link from CIC to get the PCC then it should be fine. I heard that Punjab is different, but this is the first time I am seeing it.

PCC from India normally dont mention the dates you lived there, but IRCC will vallidate the dates based on the passport entries. I have seen a case where they rejected someone with UK PCC where he got that document while he was living there.

You can get a new PCC from Indian Embassy/Consulate in US. Contact your nearest Indian mission.

Your current PCC mentions the date as well as the time it was issued. It might be a problem.

Agree with Maverick - it will definitely be an issue. Indian embassy can get the PCC within a week (my own experience) or even a day (as many have reported)

Thanks @Maverick28 and @karthik2479

I will apply for PCC from Indian consulate in San Francisco. Any body has experience getting a PCC from them? How long did it take to get the PCC and was mailing in a good option or going in-person is better?

It will not make any difference. Some folks in Chicago have reported getting it the same day but most of them had their passports renewed by that embassy. In any case it will only take a week or two at max. If it's too far to travel I would not bother and send in the postal application if you have enough time for the submission post ITA

Hi @karthik2479, Did you receive your PCC from Atlanta yet? How long did it take?

@Maverick28 and @karthik2479

I received my PCC from San Francisco
embassy, but it's black and white and has no picture. Also I can not find any stamp in the passport that says PCC issued.
Is this normal?

Yes it will be black and white - the signature would be in color and the stamp so you can scan it in color. Their letterhead is also computer generated - at least for Atlanta. Don't worry about the stamp in the passport - it's the letter that is more important and needs to be uploaded

Ok. Thanks. I scanned and uploaded what they sent. Its all black white and just the signatures in green ink. Name of the issuer was also stamped and that too in black ink.
Also they did not paste my picture on the PCC. I saw some samples of PCC and they had the picture of the person. Maybe they were from India PSK. Did anyone who got PCC from embassy in USA had similar PCC without their picture?
