PCC from India (passport issued outside india) for OINP

Hi everyone,

I need some guidance on getting PCC from india. My understanding is that going to the passport office and getting the PCC works well for Canada immigration. I've checked with my local passport seva kendra and they advised me to get a new passport issued since my existing passport was issued in the US and has a US address on it. Is there anyone on the forum who was/is in similar situation? I am interested to know how they went about it.

The confusion i have is if i change my passport now, will it impact my application with OINP. I am not sure if OINP will allow a passport number change. Has someone tried changing the passport number with OINP? I'd appreciate any guidance on this matter.

Try to get PCC from your local police in India. Otherwise passport office can issue PCC after police verification. It may take one month time.
