Hi,

I have been living in US for more than a yr on a work permit Visa. I am gathering all the documents to apply for Canada Immigration. I am yet to give my IELTS exam.

1) Can i apply for PCC now itself or after receiving my ECA?
2) How many days of old PCC is accepted in EE. I heard that the max is of 90 days old. Am i correct?
3) As per the site, i see that Indian citizens who live outside of India are supposed to request for PCC through the nearest Indian Emabbasy in US. Is there any other option to get the PCC? Or the easiest option.

Thank you

1. apply for US PCC now as it takes about 4-6 months , India PCC will take a week from consulate.
2. It is valid of 3 months (I guess) for the country you are living in and of others if the PCC was issued after you left, you are good.
3. getting PCC from the consulate is quick and easy.

>> I did not understand this: "Indian citizens who live outside of India are supposed to request for PCC through the nearest Indian Emabbasy in US". Can you please explain how can this be obtained? As I too have to get PCC from FBI in USA.

I saw couple of sites online that offer some full package kind of thing.

I would say FBI Summary check takes about 3 months...

Getting the PCC from Indian embassy is very easy. Just fill up the miscellaneous form, and send it to them along with the fee and documents. You can even do it in person if you are living near the consulate. I sent the passport and form and received the certificate within ten days.
However if you are in lving in India the prcoess is different.

FBI PCC has a very long waiting time. I am not sure if this package service is acceptable or not - maybe others can weigh in.

So should we just get the fingerprints done and send by ourselves to the FBI alongwith their form and fees?

Could you please let us know what all documents need to be notarized before mailing to the consulate ?
Also can a couple send all the documents in the same courier packet?
