PCC after ITA - Travelling to India - Please Help

Hi,

I'm a bit confused about my situation.

I was on vacation in India from February 16 to March 23, 2024 (returning to Toronto). While I was there, I updated my passport with a change in my name (both first and last names) and address. After receiving the new passport, I also obtained a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), which was delivered to me on March 22 (with a date of issue on the PCC of March 20).

Now that I've received an ITA(CEC) on April 12, 2024, can I use the recently obtained PCC from India, or do I need to apply for a new one through BLS?

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, I am in a similar situation currently and would like your advice on what to do:

I am in the process of submitting my EE profile this week and I will be travelling to India between June 27 and July 14. As the BLS police clearance certificate procedure takes a long time, (1) would it be possible for me to get my PCC during my visit in India? Or (2) should I wait until I come back to Canada to submit my PCC request through BLS?

Hi everyone,

I got my ITA under CEC Express Entry on 10th January. I don't have my PCC yet.

I was going to go to India on 15th January.

Scenario 1:

Can I go to India, get my PCC from there, upload all documents from India and submit my PR application from India and then come back to Canada?

Is that possible?

Scenario 2:

I make a request on BLS for my PCC, leave for India, come back in 1 month, and upload all documents from Canada?

Basically I have to go to India for a month right now, and trying to figure out a way around this.

All your help will be appreciated

Thanks in advance :)

I am in the same situation. Did you get the PCC during your Visit? Or submitted through BLS after coming back to Canada?

PCC can take 20-30 days after your PSK appointment in India. PSK appointment dates are also difficult get quickly. Be mindful of those things before you make a decision.

I have received my ITA today, I'm landed in India today as well for vacation. I have 1 months of vacation commencing today. Also my deadline to submit my EE application will be of 2 months.

Now, Regarding PCC,

Should I apply for my PCC one I left India? but If i were to apply via BLS it might take up to 2 months and I won't be able to submit it on time.

Need suggestions.

Thanks!

If you apply for PCC after leaving India, check if you will be able to get your PCC in time from BLS. I know so many who weren't able to get their PCC in time. Some get lucky by submitting a LoE instead of PCC, some don't. So, think through your next steps very carefully. You can also apply for a PCC from PSK in India itself and see if that's where you would like to submit your application. PCCs are a hard rejection, so think through very carefully.

You can use the same PCC, you only need a new PCC if you stayed in India for more than 6 months.

Your Indian PCC should cover entire duration of your stay in India. The missing 10 days will get your application cancelled. Check countless other rejected cases here. You need a PCC that covers the entire duration.

I recently received an ITA and I went to India and got my PCC and submitted my application after consulting a immigration lawyer. Hope that helps.
Read cases like these: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/india-police-clearance-after-visiting-india.646847/post-8108992

Did you speak with a Canadian lawyer? I would be very worried if you talked to a consultant instead OR a lawyer that isn't from Canada. PCCs are a very sensitive topic imo and can result into hard rejections.
