Hello All,
My PCC is about 7 months old now but i have never visited my home country since the issuance of PCC. Infact the PCC was issued here in canada by the consulate.

I am doing inland CEC application next week and planning to visit my home country next month. Can anyone tell me if my PCC is still good or do i need a new one? I am really tight on time here and need my passport for appearing in some exams, so wont be able to get a new PCC before my current ITA expires. Please suggest what to do in such case.

Thnx

Yes, you need a new one.

Thanks for the response.
But CIC website states that if you are not currently residing in the country then the PCC must be issued after the last time of visited the country.

My PCC was 1 year 1 month old and I never visited my country since then.

I haven't got my results yet so I can't give you the positive answer with 7 months old PCC.

As per CIC you can submit old one but some are getting rejection due to old PCC. If you have some time then get a new one.

Thanks

Thanks. If i submit my old PCC and if they don't accept it, do i have to pay application fee of $550 again for reapplication? Or they give you a chance to submit a new PCC later while application in process?

Hi

It totally depends on visa officer. You don't have to pay application fee again if they ask you to submit a new one

If they reject it and you can submit CSE with a new PCC and they might open your case again

If they don't accept then you will have to wait for the next draw and get selected. You will have to pay application fee again that time.

I submitted old PCC because I didn't have time to get a new one and I guess you don't have time as well.

If you want to take a risk then submit the old one and stay positive that they will accept your PCC. IF your other criteria are not complicated then you shouldn't have any problems in submitting the old one.

Good luck

I red in the forum that you need to submit new PCC, if you never visited the country after obtaining PCC. However, its better to get the new one, so you wont live in constant panic state until get PPR.

You don't need a new one. I was in the same situation, I didn't submit a new one and my PR was approved. I wrote a line in the Letter of Explanation quoting the CIC website which clearly states instructions (PCC issued after the last time you were in the country)

you are absolutely fine . Cic clearly mention that if u haven't visited that country and stayed there for 6 months , it's valid . The rejections that happens recently were because the pcc were geography bound. I don't understand why people will defy the requirements laid down by cic and tells some one to get a new pcc. I got mine in 2014. Still valid . File underprocess.

I just talked to a CIC call center agent about the PCC and he told me that PCC can be used if you have not visited the issuing country after date of issuance. Feeling relaxed now. Thanks for the responses everyone.
