Payment failure - Express entry

I received my ITA and have completed my application. However, when it comes to payment the system always produces a "Payment Failure" message, saying that a 204 error was experienced. I contacted my bank and they said that there is no record of an attempt to charge my credit card, thus the problem must be on the side of the merchant. I am paying from South Africa and have tried three different cards, all with the same result.

Has anybody else experienced anything similar? How did you overcome it?

There could be few reasons to it:
a) Contact your credit card company, and see if you are allowed to make foreign or international transactions. I know, some block it unless you authorize them.
b) Also, make sure you have the right billing address updated with your credit card company and you are using the exact same on CIC. any mismatch will lead to failed transactions.
This should sort it out.

Even I am experiencing express entry fee payment failure issue, even though I am trying to pay it from Canada, using Canadian Visa & Mastercards. Customer care representative have no clue how to address this issue and have asked me repeatedly to contact their technical difficulties team by submitting an online form; which I have done it twice. For this, I have attached copies of multiple failed payment. My ITA is about to expire in a day's time!

I have also been told to upload a letter of explanation stating the above problem and consoled that I can be given a deviation if there is a issue from CIC side. But uploading the letter doesn't help since, without fee payment I can't submit my application and hence CIC can't even look into it.

Please guide.

Hi Shiva. I eventually paid with a Canadian credit card and everything went through fine.

Till now I made 6 attempts - 4 with my Mastercard and 2 with my friends Visa. Also, tried using different browsers IE, Chrome; by removing cookies & any cache memory.

Just getting frustrated over this issue for about 2 weeks now. ITA will expire today.

Try doing it on different computer.

Was able to make payment on the 60th day :) using another friend's card.
Thanks guys for your concern and assistance.

Please help what will happen ?

Hi,
Same happened with me while I was doing payment.
But it was my fault I was using debit card instead of credit card.So you can verify that as well.
For me the status changed back to details nearly after 4hours after 'processing submission' status.
And I was able to pay then without any problem.
