Paying the fees - how and when? (and some more last minute questions)

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering about the fees. I intend to pay both the application and the RPR fees. So,
# 1 How do I pay? I don't see any particular button (will it appear when I have uploaded all the documents..?). Can I pay before I complete my PR application?
# 2 In case one needs to pay the fees only after they've uploaded all the final versions of their supporting docs: will it be okay if the fees are paid with just 8 days before deadline?
# 3 (not related to fees) I'm finishing my docs checklist relatively late (with 8 days to spare). Am I to expect any problems because of that?
# 4 (not related to anything, just want to clarify while I'm at it) can we make black-and-white scans? What do I do if the quality of the pdfs is atrocious because of the number of docs (I've tried everything)? What is worse: sending a barely legible scan or leaving out some really useful and really supporting docs?
Any advice will be appreciated.

I had got Adobe professional in office which I used to shrink the files..it shrinked all the files to the required level

1 you will pay once you have all documents and are ready to submit your application. Once you click to submit, it will one of the steps.

2 no problem. I submitted and paid everything on the very last day. Of course, leaving to the last minute means you're taking a small risk (eg if the system is not working, etc.) so the sooner the better. 8 days is plenty though.

3 same as above. I uploaded everything and submitted on the last day. It does take some time though, so it is better to do in advance.

4 I have found that different scanners will result in different file sizes, even with the same basic specs (dpi, quality,etc. Try a different one if you have access to. Perhaps there's some more advanced setting that explains it, but using my work printer/scanner resulted in very good files and much smaller files than doing it at home.

If you really can't make everything fits in decent quality, and exhausted all other possibilities, then upload the required documents (at low quality of need be) then send a CSE with the files in better quality and or additional supporting docs. Note that if you do not submit one of the required docs, your application can be cancelled as incomplete. My first application was cancelled in less than 24 hours for that reason. (My 2nd app is ok though and is the one I submitted on the last day)

Just wondering if you were asked what option you wanted to pay before you started completing the forms because that is what comes up first after an ITA.

Yeah, and I chose to pay both fees at once.

how much is the fee for express entry is it 1080?
