I would gladly appreciate if somebody could give me some answers:

Yesterday I received a letter from CIC, in which they ask me to send them without delay my passport and 2 photos for visa issuance. I’m reminded that the visa will be valid for entry to Canada until ...September 2008, which is one year from me successfully passing the medical exam.
I’m also informed that upon receipt of the above items, my application will be reviewed for final decision by a Canadian Visa Officer. In approved cases, a COPR form will be prepared and visa will be placed in my passport.
Should I worry that my application may not be approved for any reason, or one last review of any application is a standard procedure? Does everybody receive the same letter?
Also I don’t understand why I was not asked to pay the 490 CAD Right of Permanent Residence Fee at this moment, since according to CIC website this fee must be paid BEFORE the immigrant visa is issued overseas …

Thank you very much for any answers!

My mistake – I just double checked my prior payments – it turned out that I have paid the RPRF 3 months ago, when I was asked to undergo the medical exam. However, are they any more fees to be paid if the application is approved?
Tnx!

Everybody receives basically the same letter. As long there is no evidence of misrepresentation, and you have be convicted of a crime, you should be all right.

Thanks, Eduardo, but I will fully relax only after I see with my own eyes the visa in my passport, which I already sent. According to CIC it would take approximately 15 working days and they don’t want to be bothered during this period of time. I saw on the Embassy’s web side that the visa office does not work on Fridays, so I guess I should count only 4 days per week.
Tell me something, please – after they stamp the visa in the passport, do they contact you and notify you prior to sanding it back to you? The reason I’m asking that is because when I went to UPS’s office to send the passport, I wanted to pay for the return shipment, but was told that I will pay after I receive the passport back – COD (charge on delivery). So even I filled up a return receipt, which they put inside the envelope, I was told that for the Canadian Embassy this is not enough, and in order for them to send the passport back to me I have to authorize in a separated form UPS to deliver the passport back to me, otherwise the Embassy would not know for sure, that I want to use the same courier. And it is my burden to call the Embassy and find out if the visa was issued and only after that to call UPS, fill up and sign this form, which they will forward to the Embassy and then the Embassy will call for their courier to go pick up the passport. I’ve done COD before, but never so complicated.
So I would like to know, should I wait for a phone call from the Embassy, and if I don’t received it for 15 working days, contact them? And if so, what’s the best way to contact them?
Thank you very much to you or any body else that might enlighten me!

Hi PapulIII

you are right, like Saint Thomas, first to see then to believe...

I got my passports to the embassy in person, they were stamped the same day, so I did not used a courier. sorry I cannot help on this, maybe somebody else on the forum could help

Regards
Eduardo

Thanks guys, I’ll wait until the end of the month and if I haven’t received the passport yet, I will contact the Embassy.
