Paying fees online - whose name goes on the receipt?

I just paid my fees online, but am confused about one thing: on the receipt which I am supposed to send in with my application, should I put my name (the applicant), or my husband's name (the sponsor)?

The sponsor,the sponsor is actually the one paying the fee as he is sponsoring you.But i seen here it does not really matter the recipt number will be attached to the sponsors name,thats why when you check ecas you enter the recipt number and the sponsors name ,not the sponsored.So your husband is sponsoring you it is his name that goes on the recipt.

Uh-oh, two conflicting answers. It makes sense that my husband's name should be on the receipt, since he is sponsoring me and technically he's paying for it. Still not sure though. I'm so damned scared of doing something wrong ???.

It should be a sponsor name that you put on the receipt. And if you see in the document check list, this receipt is under sponsor list section.

The reason why they ask for a name is,in case the sponsor decides to withdraw the application, CIC needs to refund the money..at it is always returned to the sponsor..because the assumption is that it is the sponsor paying the fee..so for sure it is the sponsor...

Hi All

Just to follow up with MissyS, I have a question on the receipt I have received from CIC.

There I was asked to enter the details of payer (i.e. my details as I m sponsoring my spouse). They have asked for Client ID number? What is this ID number? Is this the same like the IB number which is on my PR card?

Please help me soon so that I can file my application by tomorrow
