Hi there,

I have kind of a tricky question about Open Work Permit applications for Inland Spousal Sponsorship. I mailed my application on May 29, 2012 and it was received by Vegreville on June 1, 2012. Today, I got my AIP letter!

The problem is I did not realize that I should/could include my application for OWP with the PR application and realized this during a meeting w/ my imm lawyer who told me to just send it in to PR with a note and I'd have a 50/50 chance of getting it matched to my application so the OWP would arrive with my AIP. I mailed this yesterday... today I got the AIP soooo obviously it is too late to get the OWP w/ 1st stage approval but I paid the fee!

Question is, can I mail another application to the Work Permit case processing address and just wait the 60-70 day current processing time but DO I HAVE TO PAY A SECOND FEE??? This seems crazy. Won't the PR people just throw this OWP app in the trash when they get it in a couple days?

does anyone have similar experience or precedent to cite here?

Hey Cash!
I'm in the same situation right now. What happened finally with your OWP? Did you have to re-pay the fee?
Thanks!
