Pay Slips/P45/P60

Hi everyone,

I would like to know whether me and my wife both has to send the pay slips for each employment. And also the p45 and p60 forms. Since I do not have all my pay slips and also p45 and p60 forms.

Is it a requirement or not? Appendix A does not say anything about these documents other than the contracts/reference letters.

Please let me know.

You should have received your P60 b/w April and May, if you are in continues job then P60 and letter from employer and current pay slip (add if you have some more) will do as UK pay slips show accumulated pay which goes to zero in March each year and then starts from April(if you see there will be two columns total income in current tax period £XX.XX, then tax able income in current tax period XX.XX and then total tax in current tax period XX.XX)over the tax year so it should be fine if you mention it. P45 is a good thing for previous job proof, with employer letter why don't you use your employment contracts as well? if you don't have a copy ask your employer by law they have to give you copy for your records as well and keep one with them and if you lose they have to give you a copy from their records.

The P45 is used when employees change jobs and the P60 is used to summarise the employee's tax information at the end of the tax year. The P60 is given to all employees to show their income and any deductions for the previous tax year. It's used for tax queries, tax returns and tax claims and credits. They key difference is that a P45 is for when you leave a job.
