Hi Experts

I have been a patient of anxiety for over 1 year now and though its nothing more than 2 pills a day I am apprehensive how it will reflect on my medical tests.

I have never required anything (read specialized attention) other than medication.

But now I have my medical test a few days from now and I am planning to tell the truth upfront - is there a high chance of application being rejected on this ground solely?

I am 31 fit (read swim 5 days a week) and fine other wise and require only occasional puffs of Inhalers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also this is my first post in this forum - so apologies for any mistakes beforehand.

Thanks Arthur and God bless you but I am just looking with a myopic view of the upcoming Canadian medical test - is my condition a case for inadmissibility on medical grounds?

Stop the pills you taking 24 hours prior to the test........even if you suffer from anxiety, it would only affect your blood pressure readings and nothing else.

Calm down.......everyone of us suffer from anxiety some time or the other. Tell the DMP that you are a bit nervous about the test.

If you suffer from anxiety during the medical test, just close ur eyes and say OM in your mind(provide more emphasis on prolonging the M word from OM).........it will help you relax(the word "OM" has vibrations of the universe and used to relieve anxiety as per yoga).

This would help calm ur nerves during medicals.

Many thanks Jaggi - I am not concerned of my Blood Pressure shooting up or something I got them checked repeatedly and its always normal.

I am just concerned about my history of medications for anxiety - will that make it a case of inadmissibility. I will be as much honest as I can with the doctor (taking the test) though.

Thanks for pointing out A-U-M I also know it works wonders :)

You can share it though it won't reflect on any of your tests you undertake. Just stop taking the pills 24 hours prior to the test.

As I said, anxiety is not a disease......its your mental approach. Your wish if you want to disclose it to DMP.

PS: It won't make you inadmissible to Canada :)

I went for the medical test and the doctor asked for a certificate from my family physician that I need nothing other than medication - which I provided and after which he said that everything is fine.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the final opinion from their branch in New Delhi.
