It’s unclear how this special program will be classified since it is new. If it still falls under protected people you can’t use your home country passport of travel to your home country until you receive citizenship.

Hello everyone, I'm not saying nobody should travel to their home country but before you do pls check the category on your pr card. If it shows anything like PB or PD1 plsdo not travel to your home country directly. PD1 means members of post determination refugees claimant. Any officer you meet at the point of entry back to Canada will sees you as a refugee claimants due to the category of your PR and will treat you as one. I have friend who have gotten their pr card through this Pathway and the category on it state PD1. We can all google the meaning. Pls let us be careful
Thanks for this valuable info. This is what I found very informative explanation. I will paste it here for other members to see.
4.7 Post-Determination Refugee Claimant in Canada Class and Humanitarian and Compassionate Applications
Post-determination refugee claimants in Canada (PDRCC) are claimants whose claim has received an 'unsuccessful determination' from the IRB, but who are considered to still be at risk if they returned to their country of origin. The category of PDRCC is established under the Immigration Act. Under the IRPA, this group of claimants will be covered by the pre-removal risk assessment (PRRA), where individuals whose claims are rejected can apply in writing to stay in Canada on "consolidated protection grounds", which include the Geneva Convention, and risks referred to in Article 1 of the Convention Against Torture, such as the risk of danger of torture or the risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment[13].

Humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) applications can be made by any non-Canadian, including refugee claimants whose claims are rejected by the IRB. Humanitarian and compassionate grounds that are considered may include being married to a permanent resident or having children born in Canada.

Here is another one guys:

Post Determination Refugee Claimant in Canada Class
Under the Immigration Act, if claimants received a negative decision from the IRB, but still felt they would be at risk if they returned to their country of origin, they could apply for a determination of whether they are members of the Post-Determination Refugee Claimants in Canada Class (PDRCC). This administrative recourse is now extended to all unsuccessful refugee protection claimants and persons in need of protection as part of the Pre-removal Risk Assessment.

Think the issue will be for those who transferred from initial asylum claim or RAD to this special program. It’s unclear how they will be classified.

HC-CDA" means "Humanitarian & Compassionate - Canada" (or maybe "in Canada"). Did you get your PR through the healthcare pathway or through h&c application? I heard people who got their PR through H&C can travel directly to their home country. Also you can wait to get the PR card so as to confirm the category on it

Honestly I don't know. All I know is that PD means post determination refugee claimants. You can wait till immigration address this issue themselves or get a reliable information from someone who had gone to their home country and are allowed entry with this category before you go or wait till you get your citizenship. Dont be a scapegoat. It's better than to be sorry later.
