Yea you are required to if not you could get a ban for misrepresentation. Also rules have tightened when it comes to China so outcome a decade ago may not represent current processing.

Not part of CCP but we have seen others comment on more stringent background checks from China in general after Canada made some serious mistakes approving some high risk candidates.
