I believe it depends on officer working on file and what immigration stream you are. There are people that get it back fast and others a month later. No two cases are the same and it's hard to compare with others. Same with the online account. For some you can see changes right away and others can't. The average for spousal sponsorship applicants to get passport back is a month.

You can take the passport pictures and make payments at their sterling bank counter there as well.
NB: Passport pictures cost around 2400

Hi @Abosede_ can you tell me your AOR date, I'm trying to figure out if my PPR letter will require that I do the biometrics.
My AOR is July 10 before the biometrics started (July 31)

No, the biometrics only apply to people who applied on or after July 31, 2018. If you check out the IRCC website dealing with biometrics it is stated there. The biometrics request letter is a separate letter.

AOR is May 8th
I’m not too sure about that as I already had my biometrics done sometime last year for a different application.

I’l suggest you wait it out or if you have Accra Visa Office Contact, you can try to reach them. I believe the process takes about a month. I submitted my Passport on the 13th of August, my application was approved on the 30th of August ( I got notification for this) and Passport was picked up on the 11th of September.
The first step I think is for your application to be approved. Once that is done, your passport will be back in no time. All the best.
Why does AVO take one month to process passports when other VOs are processing and returning passports in 10 days? It seems inconsistent.

Hi all. It's been quiet here. I submitted my passport at VFS Abuja on the 19th of December, 2018. The last mail i got from VFS with the subject "Application Accepted" was received same date. Any idea how long i would need to wait? What notification do i expect next?

It takes 21 days now

Would the holidays affect so much? Got your PPR yet? Your date of ghost update/App. approved looks interesting. It was my AoR a year ago. AoR Dec. 13, 2017
haha, I haven't. I know my application has been approved but no PPR yet. Congrats on yours.
It's an acquaintance that I speak of. He sent his on the 7th and got it back today. (21 days). Including weekends and some public holidays.

That is an encouraging timeline. Is the person Nigerian and passport sent from Nigeria to Ghana?
