Passports Sent to Ottawa in February -2015

Landing was awesome, easy as pie. Asked no questions and even gave me a little canadian flag!!! Yay! Sin number change was just as easy.

I have few questions about Landing

What happens to our existing Work permits and expired immigration papers like study permits, Off campus work permits etc ?
In the passport, Will they cancel the Temporary resident Visa ?
When we change the SIN, will CRA connect both our old and new SINs so that our past tax returns, CPP and EI contributions are continuing to the same tax account ?
Should I queue in the Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents line or in the visitors line in the immigration queue ? I am thinking about landing in Toronto Pearson

They cancel all other permits U have and discard them. You will Line up in the visitors que you have to go through the immigration process still.

Today i received my landing paper!!
this weekend i will go to boarder to get PR!
I'm so thankful for this website, i could check how everyone's status and made me relieve that i'm not the
only one who felt left alone from this program lol

just received my COPR and will land in April when I am coming back from travelling

I have noticed 2 things to share


if we want to travel without PR card,


1. we have to apply to CIC for permission to travel
meaning that another documents to be prepared + 50 CAD fee + another 2 photo requirement + the stupid waiting again through CIC (not available online, only through mails)


2. some say it might be possible to travel without PR card but why do we have to take risks even if we have safer option.. (just landing in when you are back from travel 8) )
if it was totally fine for travelling without PR card, CIC wouldn't have to come up with the stupid application for permission to travel...

Who else is sill waiting for their COPR's return trackers to get activated?
I sent my docs on the 14th,
Cic received it on the 17th and I am still waiting no tracker activated.

call CIC and ask them for notes in your file, they will have info when it was sent to printing and stuff.

I called them yesterday and they said my COPR was sent on the 3rd.
now I am not sure if that meant sent for printing or was posted.
till date I cannot see the return tracker activated.

Same here called them just now and they said that my passport was mailed out yesterday! I confirmed again and they said yes the passport was stamped and mailed out. - But return tracker not yet activated. ???

Canada post is notorious for not updating their tracker system on time. When i sold on eBay (or even bought) there were numerous times where a package arrived and the tracker was still not active, not getting the email it was active until the day after the package was delivered...

CIC number - 1-888-2422-100 - Just have all your information handy while talking to them - i.e. application number, Client Id, mailing and residential address, phone number. Good Luck hopefully yours too was mailed out yesterday!
