Can you share your experience at Ogdensburg-Prescott border. I am planning to do my landing there this Saturday.
it was quite simple, at first I stopped at the Canadian border and went inside the building and told the officer that I am doing my landing. He asked where I drove from, and when I said Ottawa, he told me that I would need to cross the border first.. which was expected
crossed the bridge, and there is no toll there, i brought change but didnt need to use it. On the american border we told the officer that we are doing canadian landing and he asked us to follow a different officer to park our car and get it inspected while we were told to go to the bulding. There was nobody else when we were there. We sat down, got called almost immediately and gave our passport and COPR. Got called again after only 5 minutes with all the documents, car keys, and the rejection letter (I asked specifically if I apply US visa in the future if I should say yes for "have you ever been denied of entry to US?", and she said no, it was not counted as denial of entry) and the officer said she would meet us outside. Then outside she was on the other side of the road already, pointed the way to make a u-turn. It was really smooth and they were all really nice. Cross the bridge again to Canada.
Back on Canadian side, from within the car, we told the officer the same thing, that we are doing our landing, and he just gave us a yellow slip, and told us to park and go in. This was also quite simple, gave all of our passports, COPRs, work permits, rejection letter from US border and the yellow slip from the Canadian border. The officer disappeared for 5-10m and came back to ask us to sign and answer all the questions on both copies of COPRs. Disappeared for another 5-10 minutes with our copies of COPR, Passport with the PR visa voided, and he took our work permits. he didnt even ask for proof of funds. However this was not as smooth as the US border, my friend who drove us there (a canadian citizen) went to the toilet as soon as he enters the building and the officer got really angry. No need to talk about the details, but we were really tense for 15-20m waiting there. But in the end it was all good and he congratulate us on being permanent residents and told us we are gonna get our PR cards in 6-8 weeks. So my advise is dont go to toilet, and do everything they tell you to, and dont talk back to the officer even if he says some really mean things.
