just got an email from CIC
the subject is "request for information".


Email body is

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

We are currently looking into the issue described in your email. We will communicate with you as soon as we have more information.


I don't know what does it really mean. :-\

Did you submit CSE for ECAS in the past? if yes, they are just doing follow-up's on that. Just to keep there ticketing system without the tickets those are past due.

I visibly saw the status change to first Updated , then to Approved !! ;D

But I don't see any change in the inner table ! would It only change after I land?
Any ideas?

PS: Passport received by CIC Dec 31th !
Call center agent said CIC opened the package on 5th Jan

I did in December first week stating that my Ecas status is not available. do you think they are following up with that after over a month :S

Did you just call the regular call centre number (1-888 something)? I called them this morning the guy over the phone refused to confirm whether they receive my passport or not. They said that my tracking number is the confirmation. Btw, my passport was received by Ottawa on Dec 30.

yesterday in the evening it got approved and just checked now in the morning it got closed.

Well ask few more questions which will make them to look into the application , then ask if they can see if they have got the passport.

The agent initially said the same to me , then I asked few more questions for which she had to look into my application.
While answering that , she said she also can see that passport was received

She also clarified they don't normally check passport status cos they never know how long the wait is before a office gets to the passport !
But in this case she said I was lucky to see it being processed this early !

Well you know how CIC is !! they just goto make everything difficult !
