Passport Verification during PR processing

Dear All,

I am planning to apply for a PR by august of this year.

I heard that the Passport will be held by cic during PCC verification.

Also my visa is going to get expired by dec, So i would have to reapply for my work permit !!!

So will there be a clash between the two processes.

Holding passport for PCC verification? I don't think so.
The only time they will ask for Passport, is to stamp visa on it.
(that stamping takes around 1-3 months depending on application).

If you applying for PCC from India , Indian Consulate will (BLS will collect from you) hold your passport not the CIC .

Regarding the Work permit extension during the PCC process is possible as You are not required to send original passport for WP extension, CIC required only copy of passport(PDF copy incase of Online application) , So make sure you make copy of passport and current WP before submitting PCC application.

@Dimma , but the trv will be pasted on the passport right during work permit extension.
