My father with indian passport expiring 16th October travelling to canada with valid visitor visa on 27th april...& returning back to india on 17th june. So, his passport is valid for a little less than 6 months beyond date of travelling to canada. Is it permissible?

It would best if he gets a new passport. His TRV would continue to remain valid. He must travel with both passports

The immigration officer at the POE may reduce/limit his stay if he travels on his current passport
