I have a question regarding these requirements for passport/travel document as mentioned in the CIC.

You must provide a clear, legible copy of your valid passport or travel document bio data page.
If using your passport, include a copy of the page that shows your birth date, country of origin, etc.
Your travel document must show proof of status (citizenship or residency), as well as photo identification. Your travel document must be issued by a government and include your name, photo, date of birth, document number, and the issue and expiry dates, if applicable. A travel document is used only by individuals who cannot obtain a passport.

For people who are uploading the passport, does this mean that they need to upload only the front of it and not the back page?

I don't know what you mean by back page.

This is what a biodata page typically looks like:

The other page contains the permanent address and parents' name. I guess they are only asking for the page similar to that image. Thank you.

I don't think that page is required, simply because many passports of other countries do not contain that type of information (e.g., the Australian one).

Only the bio page is required- however, I personally will end up uploading and submitting all pages of my passport regardless. The more information you can furnish, the better- especially since in this case, my passport pages corroborate my travel history.

I might also upload the stamped pages of the passport as I've mentioned those dates in the Travel History section. Thanks.

My Indian passport will expire in October 2018 , I'm a Canadian PR (applied for Canadian Citizenship) but currently Indian Citizen. If I want to travel to India for any emergency and come back to Canada during this time (May-Oct 2018), Is my passport still valid for to and fro travel or the six months rule apply to India & Canada as well like other countries ? Kindly advice.
