Hi,

I need to get some arabic passport stamps translated .I have read experience of an applicant who provided translations done by his community centre and they were not accepted by CIC as they were not by a certified translator.

I know Immigrant Services Calgary provides translation services in Calgary. Although they are not a certified translator ,still they claim that their translations are accepted by CIC.

Anyone in Calgary submitted translations done by ISC and got them accepted , kindly share your experience .

Thanks

Here is the site of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta. I highly recommend going with one of the certified options rather than risking delays with an uncertified translator. http://www.atia.ab.ca/

Most translators have a procedure to follow to allow them to work with you even if you're in a different town or province.

Check for certified translator and ask them specifically of their translation would be accepted by CIC. I had issue with a guy in Toronto who claimed they are acceptable and then my application was returned.
I found these guys pretty cheap: http://www.docsbase.ca/ but mention that you need it for CIC

Also, look for CTTIC certified translators in Canada. They are accepted everywhere

Hello,

I got mine translated at Immigrant Services Calgary and I had no issues with CIC. The translator is certified and the cost was 50% lower than other translation services. The downside is that depending on demand it can take up to three weeks for you to get your translation. Mine was from Spanish to English.

Hope this helps
