I would not advise you to withdraw your app at all. I got finger prints requested, which I believe make an application non routine. However this didn't delayed the process at all compared to other applicants, and I got my Oath scheduled around 2 and a half months after the test.

I got finger prints requested on Oct 21ish, and approximately two business days later they invited me for test on November, so my understanding is that test invite and finger prints request were not dependent on each other. The status of my application changed to DM on January 1st. I'm a June...

I just called them and they put a note on my file. Application status changed to Decision Made during my trip and no correspondence was sent to my address. Hope this helps.

How about you? What time window did they give to you specifically? I'm asking because of this part of your original post "....or will Calgary office just keep them waiting ??, and also because the time line they gave in November was from 1 to 3 months. I know people who sat for their tests...

Well I just notified CIC that I'll be outside of Canada for a bit less than two weeks by the end of the year, I hope this doesn't affect my application.

I can attest to that. I changed my address on eCAS, checked a few weeks later to see that if was updated, and they still send my test invite to my old address, even though the letter was produced after I updated my address. Keep track of your old address for a few weeks just to be sure.
