Passport sumbitted and being asked for again

Does anyone know if my passport has to be valid for a certain lenght of time.
Mine expires in December, but I wasn't planing to renew it till closer to the expiration date.
I have an invitation to apply and uploaded my passoport information and now they are processing it and asking for my Passport (Travel Documents) again.
I resubmitted it in color but was wondering if the expiration date would be a factor?

Or does anyone know a CIC number I could call, the ony one I could find was one where you had to already be in the country.

Your COPR, when you receive it, will be valid for either 1 year from the date of medicals or passport expiry date, whichever is earlier. I don't think the expiration date is an immediate factor - EE just has a few glitches that need ironing out and sometimes uploaded documents go missing for no reason.

I would recommend applying for a new passport. After you get your passport request, CIC will only give you visa that will expire with your passport. Then you will have to apply again for a new visa after you receive you new passport. It's more expensive.
