Passport submitted at Detroit office

Dear All,
I am here in India on Vacation and got PPR and sent mine and my wife's passports to Detroit by a friend on 8th of Nov. But they have refused to give it to him in the evening and said they will mail it to him and took his address which is different than the one in my PR file. (Will this be a problem?) He submitted the passports on 8th of Nov. and Ecas still shows in process.

Please kindly guide me what to do now. As my Vacation ends on Dec 10th and has to go back to my job in Canada. Do I need to inform Detroit that I am in India?

Finally ur wait is over...What documents did u gave to ur friend along with your passports and Can someone else go to Detroit for Visa stamping??

Someone else can go to submit the passports, but they will not give back the stamped passports and COPR to anybody else other than the promary applicant only.

No, they can give it back to you. I took my friend's Passport with me, and they gave it back to me same day.

Thanks Sunny and Minta both for your reply.Even if we assume that they dont give it to someone else but they can mail it to the address given as in the case of Andhra...
