Passport submission - Visa Application Center - North Africa

Hey guys,

I am a Canadian citizen, my wife is from Libya.
I received on September the 7th the notice that my permanent resident visa is ready to be issued and that I would have to go to a Canada Visa Application Center. I was told to provide the passport, 2 pictures, the the letter and the authorization. I was instructed to go Tunis or to any other VAC from the following link: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/index.html.

It so happened to be that Egypt is the closest VAC, my father in law went and was told that the VAC in Egypt doesn't provide this service, he then went to the Canadian Embassy to get more information. They took from him the letter that I received and the authorization, but not the passport or the pictures. He was told that he will be contacted when they have an update, but no further details were provided.

I am worried as I was given 30 days, and its been 10 so far with no progress. I am not sure how to proceed.
I am thinking of having them go to Tunis, but am worried the same fate will happen there.

Please advise.

Hey,,
You can do it in Egypt at the VAC center.. just bring the email and the requirements they asked for in the email.. as well Tunis does it at The VAC center and at the embassy on Tuesday and Thursday..

what was your timeline.. i am Libyan too and my papers are in Paris ??

My father in law went to the VAC in Egypt and was told that they don't provide this service.
I called them yesterday and they also told me they don't provide this service.
They then took the papers to the Canadian Embassy and, as mentioned above, they only took the letter and the authorization (not the passport/pictures).

very very odd. keep me posted my wife as well will be going to Egypt when her time comes... so i would need to know.

Whats the timeline again ? When did you apply?
