passport returned saying they are damaged

i just received my passport back today from NDVO stating that passport is damaged and i need to apply for fresh passports and courier them.

Has anybody faced this situation before?
any idea how long does it take once i submit my new passport to NDVO to get it back stamped?

Thats right...you have to apply for an urgent passport, tell the PP office that you need the PP due to the letter send to you by VO

it is not big problem. you will immigiately get visa when you forword to HC.

hi, i had faced this situation , i luckily submit it on time. passport office won't re-issue on tatkal basis due to ur damaged passport. apply in general quota & within a week request to Regional passport officer (R.K puram, first floor near room no 8) about ur urgency. don't stand in queue for meeting officer sitting in room no 8.

still waiting for stamped passport. as per GCMS note, my NZ police certificate are pending.
did u get ur fresh passport , just submit back to visa office. all cases are different from one another. dont worry all will b fine.

same here today i also got my passports n letter by saying same thing.but when i sent them passports they were ok.i dont know what they did with my passports..........
and i asked an agent for reissuing passpor as mine is damaged he said its critical work as passport office can charge fine for damage and it could take time for issuing passports.i m very tansed what should i do?

honestly u should think of getting some broker to do this job and they may b.. be or wtever they will get it done . they roam outside pspt office usually

If the passport is damaged, it is damaged. Get a new one issued. No point in just being tensed. It is just a travel document to legally 'pass a port'. You might have to pay the fee for re-issuing your passport - not a fine...Yes, they will require some kind of documentation that your current passport is damaged beyond use.

As per Geneva convention , passport / travel document must be in good shape. You need to get a fresh passport.

have u got ur visa.when u send ur fresh passport?
