Passport Return | TRV | Online Decision Taken

Friends, my parents applied for TRV online from India and the status is "Decision Taken". They were asked to submit passports on 2 June. Passports were submitted in person at VFS Pune on 5 June. Its status is Visa application, tracking ID No.xxxxxxxx is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, BANGALORE.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website.
. They opted to pick up the passports in person from VFS Pune to save time.

My parents are traveling to USA on 13th night / 14th morning 4 AM IST. Do you think they will get it by 12th or 13th? Alternatively, I have to postpone their USA trip. But it will cost me lot of money as Airline will charge me a lot. Any insight into this will be helpful.

What does the 'Final decision' update say?

They could get their passports back by this weekend. Do send an email to the Bangalore visa office with their US flight tickets + request for expedited visa stamping

Here is the exact message:
This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application.

Passport requirements
• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.
• Any passports used in your application to demonstrate your travel history. In particular, please submit any/all expired or cancelled passports that hold a U.S. visa if applying under the CAN+ program.
• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.
• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.
Your passport must be received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada within 30 days from the date of this letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application. Please ensure that a copy of this letter is included with your passport.

Does the 'Final decision' update in the MyCIC account say 'Approved/closed'? Or 'Application in progress'?

That one says :
Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details.

Do email the Bangalore visa office.

In case your parents don't get their passports back by Friday at VFS Pune, you could consider changing their tickets

As of this writing 7.12 PM IST on 8 June (Indian Standard Time), the status is same "is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, BANGALORE"

I applied Canadian visitor visa from US on may 18 th and haven't heard back from them on my application status. Their processing time says 20 days. Is it 20 business days or 20 days? Secondly, how long will it take to get visa stamping done once I get approved status if I go in person to ny or la vac instead of mailing my passport and other documents?

I applied from the US as well the 10th and just got a response today so it took almost 1 month.

I recommend you to mail to LA. I have heard they are a lot faster than NY.

All, it takes about 20 to 26 business days to get online approval for canada tourist visa. After that you need to submit the passports for stamping which takes another 5 to 7 business days assuming you are dropping it off and picking it up in person. VFS or Canadian counsulate doesn't give damn about your urgency. All you will get is automated emails and statuses that can be seen online as well. It is unbelievable that a country like Canada has such poor visa processing mechanism...
