Hello guys,

If I am qualified for the experience class, is there a requirement for how long my foreign passport has to be valid for? For example, I am qualified for experience class in December 2014, but my passport will be expired in December 2015, will there be any problems processing my PR application? (Assuming I won't be able to renew my passport).

Also, any suggestions on when to start preparing for experience class application? (Assuming I would like to get it as soon as possible)

Much appreciated!

Terry

You need to have a valid passport when CIC is ready to issue your visa. So there is no issue applying for CEC now with a passport that expires in Dec 2015. However if CIC doesn't complete the processing of your application until 2016, then you will need to renew your passport so that you can get the PR visa added to your passport.

Thank you so much for your replay. According to CIC, the processing time for experience class is 13 months. In actuality, is the processing time really this long?

It varies on case to case. some time people get their PR in 8-10 months and sometime it take more than 13 months.
