Passport Requested

Hello,

Need some feedback from people that have gone through this situation or heard of from people in this situation. I am sponsoring my wife, she got a request to sent her passport in within 60 days. Is this good news? or can the visa still be denied? does this mean interview is waived cause nothing is mentioned in the letter? Any feedback would be great.

From Nairobi. I heard some people have Ecas change to decision made, I guess I will have to wait for that. How do people usually find out if they got the visa? do they just send you an email or is it when you got your passport back with the visa stamped or do they send you a letter?

missausaga got my application on jan 3rd 2012, got approval for first stage on Feb 16th, Nairobi started processing on April 26th and they send a request for passport in a letter dated May 2nd, so it's been really quick, very pleased with that. My wife send a prepaid envelope to Nairobi so I am thinking they might just send it back with that and maybe not email or call, I don't know, I hope it's good news when they ask for the passport.

I hope Nairobi is moving faster on all the spousal applications now... My husband's coworker is sponsoring his wife from Tanzania (via Nairobi visa office). He sent the application to Mississauga on Valentines day. He hasn't heard anything so far, but stage one is taking over 90 days now, and according to the CIC website they are currently working on apps received February 7... I hope things move fast for them once Nairobi begins processing!

Yeah, for me stage 1 was pretty quick, I think after I got mine in there was a lot of applications, maybe that's why they are a bit slower right now for stage one. My wife is from Tanzania too.

Hi everyone.. Any Idea on the processing time from Detroit VO as far as getting your passport back to you.. I believe someone said they hadnt heard anything on Detroit for a while and back in 2010 it took like 3 weeks.. My problem is I dont have 3 weeks. Husband has to land june 13 2012... He is over nighting express post tomorrow so I know they will have it Tuesday 22nd in the AM.. with a return envelope for same over nite delivery. So if you can hand deliver it and have it ready for pick up in 10 days. can they do the same for mailing purposes? I dont see why not.. He is also enclosing a cover letter stating the obvious landing date and the urgency of them processing and returning his passport.

thanks guys.. lol I think there is a question in there somewhere.. My excitement over my husbands PPR is tampered by not knowing if they will get his papers back to him intime to land.. Sighs.

She also enclosed a cover letter saying she is travelling and needs the passport back by that date, so hopefully. I am in the same situation; my wife is from Madagascar and we just received a letter asking for the CSQ (I'm from Quebec) and her passport. We sent everything to Nairobi with a prepaid return enveloppe (DHL).

checkerscom2000, did your wife finally got her permanent visa ? If yes, how much time did it take after she sent her passport ?
