Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello everyone,

This is for those who have sponsored their spouse/partner and are applicants under spouse/partner who have received the passport request from CHC New Delhi.

My question is...

When you had received the passport request, what was the ecas status of ur file at that time; in process or decision made?

I am asking this question because on...

November 20th, we had submitted the application into Mississauga Office
December 15th, the decision was made and a letter was sent out
January 5th, CHC New Delhi had started processing our file
January 12th, we received the request for the passport in a letter from CHC New Delhi dated January 6th

What I find strange is that they have asked for my passport the next day after they had started processing my file. Is that normal?

I would really appreciate it if you all could share.

Thanks,
Neer

Well congrats for the passport request. but urs seem to be going at a supersonic speed. i know some other people on this forum whose application started processing early november by new delhi including myself. but we havnt heard anything yet. So i woul say this dosnt seem normal to me but if you've got it its great congrats once again. oh and by the way sometimes they need the passport to complete background checks and then issue u a visa.

Neer, I've seen a few cases where PPR is issued the same day CHC starts processing. As jdod mentioned I think they need your passport for your background check. This usually happens when the applicant has travelled outside India for longer periods of time. BTW, what I'm saying is solely based on my observation. Anyway it is a good sign to get PPR. Good Luck.

And I'm sure that the status will be "in process" when PPR is issued and will be changed to "decision made" only when the visa is stamped.

thanks jdod and vsnk80, its alright with me if they are wanting my passport for background check, afterall, i don't have a choice. Now lets see when the in process changes to decision made. It also makes sence vsnk80 that while receiving PPR the status would be in Process....thanks for clearing up my confusion, and I wish you both best of luck.

Neer,

Congratulations for your PPR.

Just out of curiosity - wanted to get a sense of your case. Are you guys recently married ? Has the principal applicant in your case travelled outside of India? Did you provide a lot of proofs of relationships, etc. ?

Thanks,
A.

totally agree. they ask for passport well before they finalize the application.

It depends on the office. My status was changed to "decision made" before I even received the passport request. I then did the in-person visa pick-up, so the total amount of time they held my passport was about an hour and a half.

Hello Everybody,

i have read many forums but i actually have a new kind of problem which i didnt come across any forums. I have been asked to send medicals and passport with landing fee at the same time. My passport with landing fee reach Canada CHC new Delhi on 25th April 2010. my Ecas didnt update and showed only "In Process" till this Monday 19th May 2010 and the same day evening when i checked the Ecas status it says the information is wrong and they cannot find the details on my file number. I thoroughly checked the details which i have given to check Ecas status. So i emailed the CHC New Delhi about this, but there is no answer from them till now. If anybody has the same problem please advice on the same.

Thank you
