Passport request recieved from CHC New Delhi. URGENT!!!

Hello,

I have recieved a passport request from CHC New Delhi. On the letter CHC has also requested for my Landing Fee if not already paid and Police Clearance Certificate if not already submitted. I had already paid the Landing Fee and submitted the Police Clearance Certificate when I first sent the papers to Mississauga. So I was wondering, is this normal that they ask for these two additional things in this way when requesting for our passports??? Please let me know as I am to send this info on Monday.

First of all, congratulations on getting your PPR!

I think the key phrase here is "if not already submitted" - so if you have submitted the applicable papers I can't see why you shouldn't be fine. If they wanted you to send them a new police certificate I'm sure they would've explicitly asked for it.

I also wanted to ask how long is a police clearance certificate valid till. I had got the certificate on Aug 18th and had submitted my forms on Nov 20th. So would they still recognize that as a valid PCC?

I wanted to know how long a Police Clearance Certificate is valid for as our PCC issue date is August 18th and we had subbmited the application on November 20th.

Hi Neer,

I remember reading that the PCC should be obtained no longer than three months before the date of application. Yours is exactly 3 months. Since they are saying if not submitted already, I would guess they are not asking for it.

Can you please share when New Delhi started processing your application.

the time for police certificate is 3 months, but we were not asked for any new one at all even when they were finalizing our application.

The rule is that it must be less than 3 months old when the application is received. They can then, at their discretion, ask for new ones later on. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

Did you hear anything from CHC New Delhi so far? What is your status showing on eCAS? I also sent my passport on Jan 25, 2010 via Speed Post. I received PPR on Jan 23, 2010 from CHC which was dated Jan 13, 2010. They started processing my application on Jan 13, 2010.Let me know if you receive anything at all.

Hi guys did anyone in India receive a letter from CHC New Delhi giving u a file number and acknowledging that they have started working on your file? This file number should start with a letter and be followed by some numbers.

I did received a letter from CHC Delhi dated Jan 13, 2010. This is the only letter I received stating they started processing my file on Jan 12, 2010 along with the immig. file number.And in the same letter they requested my passport & also requested to pay PR fees & submit PCC if not already submitted.I received this letter on Jan 23, 2010 & I have already mailed my passport on Jan 25, 2010. My PR fees & PCC was already submitted along with my application package.

We still haven't gotten any correspondence since we had sent the passport to CHC New Delhi. We are hoping to recieve it soon because my wife has to go back and join work. Lets see what happens. How about yourself? What stage of the process are you in. Sorry we didn't reply to your previous post. We'll let you know as soon as we hear something.
